Just water, the ethically sourced spring water brand, has solidified its footprint in Southern California by partnering with distributors Straub Company and Lenore & Co.
The two distributors will allow the brand to increase availability of its water in the region. The new partnerships follow the introduction of a new and improved bottle that has increased renewable resource content – up from 53% to 82% – achieved by using plant-based plastic derived from sugar cane in addition to its existing FSC-certified paper.
The updated Just water bottle creates up to 74% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than traditional PET plastic bottles and will be on shelves from this summer.
Just CEO Grace Jeon said: “At Just water, we continue to seek partners who share our philosophy for doing great work and giving back to the environment and communities. Both Straub and John Lenore represent like-minded companies with tremendous strengths in their respective markets. We are thrilled to be working alongside these organisations to further build our business in Southern California.”
John Lenore & Company is a California-based beverage distributor that represents a strong range of premium beverage and snack products. Meanwhile, Straub Company has been a quality distributor of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage portfolios since 1948.
Sean Nichols, VP of sales for John Lenore & Company, said: “We are pleased to join Just’s rapidly growing distribution, not only because of where Just is headed in the marketplace, but also because Just water is environmentally friendly.”
And Straub’s Greg Zail added: “As an Anheuser-Busch distributor, Straub is constantly striving for more sustainable business practices and partners. It makes perfect sense to work with Just water because it is a better, more environmentally friendly version of something people already need.”
Sourced from the Glens Falls watershed in upstate New York where water is abundant, Jusr water is currently available US-wide at Whole Foods Market, Kroger, Albertsons/Safeway and other retailers, with a retail price of $0.99 for a 16.9oz bottle.
