Ahmad Tea has launched its range of dessert-inspired teas in online supermarket Ocado, after securing a landmark listing.
From this month, all six of the dessert teas – three black teas consisting of strawberry velvet cake, pear and cinnamon strudel, and Moroccan orange slice; plus three green teas in citrus and mint sorbet, strawberry basil coulis, and mango and lychee soufflé – will be available through Ocado.
Packed in loose leaf pyramids, each blend has been specially crafted by Ahmad Tea’s master tea tasters and then tried and tested with UK consumers to ensure a positive reception in the market.
FoodBev first reported on the novel range of flavours back in February.
Ahmad Tea general manager and group director Ali Afshar said: “2016 is a big year for Ahmad Tea in the UK, with the launch of our innovative dessert tea collection into Ocado. We believe that Ahmad Tea is ideally positioned to serve the growing appetite for quality speciality tea, and those consumers looking for new taste experiences.
“Great taste and quality is at the heart of everything we do and we feel Ocado is the perfect place to launch our award-winning dessert tea collection to discerning tea drinkers. Our goal is for Ahmad Tea to become a stronger force and leader in quality speciality teas by 2020 globally. Leaning on our belief that everyone deserves great quality tea, there is still a wealth of opportunity to be had, and we’re looking to enhance our reach even further over the coming years.”
Each of the teas will have a recommended retail price of £4 per pack.
