Good Deli Company has debuted an artisan quinoa range, consisting of three speciality grains.
The range consists of three different quinoa grains – red, black and white – and hails from the slopes of the Andes in Peru and Bolivia. Described as a healthy alternative to rice and cous cous, as well as a versatile form of protein, the quinoa is high in fibre and rich in amino acids.
The first in the range is a popular white quinoa, providing a slightly nutty taste and the softest textured of the three; a vibrant red quinoa, which is a slightly stronger grain that holds its shape and is very quick to cook; and a black quinoa that is the sweetest in the collection, delivering a stronger and slightly earthier taste while still providing the traditionally nutty taste of the grain.
The high quality grains provide a distinctive premium taste for a vast range of dishes from meat to salads, Good Deli Company said.
Good Deli Company chief executive Simon Bell said: “This new and exciting range of quinoas have been chosen for their ability to deliver nutritional value, quality and provenance at a cost effective price. Perfect on their own or presented as a tricolore of quinoa, the vibrancy and superior flavour of these grains delivers a premium offering for operators.
“We continue to respond to high demand from foodservice operators for quality ingredients. Working well on their own, each of the quinoas, with their vibrant colours and distant textures, bring a global feel to mealtimes.”
The new products are packed in 1kg bags, offering foodservice operators an easy-to-cook premium ingredient with strong provenance and a great price point.
