Halewood Wines & Spirits has launched a new handcrafted quince gin as part of its Whitley Neill collection.
With complex flavours and aromas, this new gin uses real quince fruit juice to create a finished product with ‘a smooth, sweet flavour’. It is inspired by the Neill family history and its travels through Persia in the 1900s, harnessing a desire to use new exotic ingredients discovered around the world.
The gin will tap into ‘the booming gin market and appetite for discovering new flavours’, Halewood said.
The 43% ABV gin is as flavoursome as it is versatile, and is packed in 70cl bottles with a price of £26 each. A 5cl and 20cl bottle will be launched in the coming months, Halewood added.
A Halewood representative for Whitley Neill said: “Whitley Neill gin’s popularity, both in the UK and abroad, has stemmed from its unique flavour combinations and botanicals, including the use of the baobab fruit.
“We wanted to develop a liquid which offers consumers something completely different, and this is the first UK gin which uses real quince fruit juice alongside a range of other ingredients to create a particularly smooth, sweet gin.
“Whitley Neill Quince gin also benefits from the continuing growth of premium gins whilst providing bartenders a genuine point-of-difference in their offering to consumers.
“We’re thrilled to launch the first ever quince gin in the UK market and look forward to our customers enjoying it.”
