Cold Stone Creamery has launched a new grab-and-go ice cream in Chile, representing its entry into the country for the first time.
The ‘important first step’ for the US ice cream brand is the result of a collaboration with PJ Chile, owned by franchise business Drake QSR.
Eddy Jimenez, senior vice-president of international operations and development for Kahala Brands, which owns Cold Stone Creamery, said that he was ‘excited for Chilean consumers to try new and better ice cream experiences.
“This collaboration with PJ Chile allows customers their first opportunity to experience the Cold Stone Creamery brand in Chile,” he said.
The company hopes to generate buzz through the launch of its product as a convenient grab-and-go item, and provide momentum for expanding the Cold Stone Creamery brand throughout the country. Its products are usually available in tubs and pots – including at more than 1,000 retail locations in the US – with signature flavours including a ‘birthday cake remix’ with cake batter ice cream, rainbow sprinkles, brownie and fudge; and strawberry blonde, which combines strawberry ice cream with graham cracker pie crust, strawberries, caramel and a whipped topping.
The plans to differentiate itself from others in the Chilean market based on the premium quality of its product.
“Cold Stone Creamery offers a premium quality product by serving the best ice cream, made using the best ingredients, delivered through a unique experience, which provides a high value proposition,” said Jimenez. “As the brand makes its entry into Chile, we see great opportunity for the brand to expand beyond grab-and-go and offer the Ultimate Ice Cream Experience to consumers.”
Cold Stone Creamery has continued to make strong moves in international markets in recent years. It operates more than 300 stores outside the US in 28 different countries, including the Philippines, Kuwait, Qatar, Nigeria, Egypt, India and Indonesia.
