American protein bar maker ThinkThin is expanding its offering with two lines of plant-based products.
The Glanbia-owned company aims to tap into a shift towards plant-based nutrition among American consumers.
The new line consists of two powder mixes: Belgian chocolate protein and probiotics, and Madagascar vanilla bean protein and probiotics.
ThinkThin will also expand its protein bar range, also in two flavours: sea salt almond chocolate and chocolate mint.
CEO Michele Kessler said: “Our focus on nutrition is matched only by our passion for innovation. We estimate that plant-based foods are a $5bn dollar industry, and we wanted to bring to market a portfolio of products using high-quality, plant-based ingredients and still deliver the indulgent flavours our consumers expect.
“Innovating in the nutrition and food space means we have to constantly evaluate ingredient and food sources. With the growing numbers of flexitarians and consumers actively incorporating plant-based foods in their meals, we knew this was a space we could lean into that would complement our current product offerings.”
ThinkThin was established in 1999 and acquired by Glanbia in 2015 for $217m.
