Having been mesmerised by the snake-like curvings of AmbaFlex’s latest conveyor in Hall 8 of Anuga FoodTec, I took the opportunity to find out more from Lothar von Hall, area sales manager for Germany and Austria.
He explained that the AccuVeyor AVH is able to handle odd-shaped objects such as triangle packs, pouches, or rectangular and square shaped multi-packs as the accumulation method does not require any gripping of the product, but instead is based on one continuous conveyor belt with an accumulation capacity capable of off-setting up to five minutes production delay (depending on product size).
In addition, the AccuVeyor AVH can handle two lanes of product on the one belt. There are no runners or guides on the belt, and the product just sits safely on the specially-designed slats that with their rubber surface create a friction that holds the product in place. This ensures that sensitive products that would not otherwise withstand handling can be effectively be conveyed without damage.
The photo illustrates the compelling movement of the spiral conveyor in action.
