The new Appe Polska will serve emerging Eastern European markets as part of the company’s continuing ambitious growth and development strategy.
Appe is investing in excess of €15m in a new factory in Katowice in South Poland. The facility will offer Appe’s full range of services including preforms and bottles, advanced technologies such as Heat Set, DeepGrip and barrier bottles, bespoke container designs and the capabilities to provide dedicated Through The Wall operations at customer sites.
The company says Appe Polksa will be able to deliver a more localised supply for existing customers while also maximising new sales opportunities throughout Eastern Europe from both local and multinational businesses.
Appe’s MD, Martin Hargreaves, said: “We believe that Poland has excellent development potential that ideally matches our own substantial long-term expansion plans. This is part of our continuing strategy to move our business forward by bringing our technical and design expertise to markets where our packaging solutions will create significant added value for our customers.
“We are taking an aggressive approach to seeking and securing new customers in this region, with the intention of developing long term, mutually successful relationships.”
Appe says it has already secured two major new contracts with leading companies for the Polish factory which is scheduled to open later this year.
