Weight loss specialist Atkins has expanded its range of low-carbohydrate, low-sugar snacks with the introduction of its new Endulge range of chocolate and digestive cookies.
The two new products both contain 0.9g of carbohydrates – up to 44% less than traditional cookies – and 0.2g of sugar. Launching into 800 UK retailers this month with a recommended retail price of £3.25, they offer “dieters tasty ‘elevenses’ or afternoon snack options ahead of the summer diet season”.
Their introduction will be accompanied by the launch of Atkins’ new low-carbohydrate, low-sugar Advantage bar, which each provides 9.3g of protein. The cookies and cream-flavoured snack will be distributed in five-pack boxes with a recommended retail price of £6.49.
Atkins UK managing director Peter Valentine said: “With numerous studies, including the latest BBC ‘The Truth About Sugar’ documentary, advising cutting down on sugar intake, consumers are beginning to grow wise to sugar content in a number of processed, supposedly healthy snacks.
“With this in mind, we want to expand our ever growing range and incorporate even more versatile, satisfying low-carb, low-sugar products that suit individual needs and tastes, without consumers feeling they are in any way depriving themselves.”
