The Innovation Awards which are sponsored by Northumbrian Water for 2012 are now in their second year. They were inspired by Professor Cave’s Review of Competition and Innovation in the Water Markets, and now have progressed to directly support a number of the Water Sector Innovation Leadership Group’s key objectives.
Pamela Taylor, chief executive of Water UK and Patron of the Institute of Water, said: “Water UK created its Innovation Hub to stimulate new thinking across the sector’s business activities and help to articulate the successes that the water companies and supply chain have achieved. The Institute of Water National Innovation Awards complement this work perfectly, encouraging the entire UK sector to value and promote innovation and providing the mechanism with which to recognise success.
“I am pleased to add my support to the Institute of Water as they seek to promote a cultural environment for innovation to flourish, and wish to invite the overall winner of the National Innovation Awards for 2012 to take part in this year’s Water UK Innovation Hub.”
Professor Martin Cave will present the 2012 National Innovation Award at the Institute of Water President’s Dinner in London on Friday 18 May. The winners will be selected from entrants short-listed as winners of award events across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, details of which are to be released soon.
