Krones and Micro Matic showcased a holistically conceived solution for breweries at BrauBeviale 2014: BEVkeg – a solution for the non-returnable keg market.
The system’s core component is a 20-litre keg made of PET. Another important feature of the creation is the patented BEVmate tapping system, which operates purely with mechanical pressure. This principle is simple and safe – when it is emptied the container rolls itself up inwards, resulting in high beverage quality without any tapping losses.
KIC Krones is the supplier and central customer interface for the 20-litre keg. Components accompanying the product depend on the output class of the filling system – either as a BEVkeg Preform KIT or as a BEVkeg Container KIT (compressed containers). The closure, handle and disposable beverage line components are supplied with the creation.
The brewery or the filling company fills the keg, labels it, affixes a handle, and packs the filled container in an outer carton, which is then palletised. Required machinery and technology is supplied by Krones and the BEVmate tapping system is delivered to the brewery or the catering facility by the Micro Matic specialists.
