About 75 Cargill Philippines employees and customers are helping to build these houses in Indahag at the Cagayan de Oro (CDO) site of HFHP.
Philip Soliven, country representative, Cargill Philippines, said: “We are committed to be a responsible corporate citizen wherever we do business. We have a significant presence in and around Cagayan de Oro.
“Our valued customers, partners and employees live and work here and we have served this community for many years. We began fundraising efforts across Cargill businesses, geographies and amongst employees soon after the typhoon hit to help rebuilding efforts.”
In response to the Sendong calamity, HFHP has pledged to build 6,000 houses for families displaced. They have sought partnerships with the CDO city government, National Housing Authority, Department of Social Work and Development, and several non-government organisations to help construct the target number of houses.
