Jim Johnson, commercial operations manager, Cargill Corn Milling North America, said: “Achieving and maintaining a safe work environment is something that we take very seriously, and in fact it is one of our core business values. For us to be successful, safety must be a shared mindset that instills awareness and ongoing diligence about safe practices and behaviours in all of our employees, in everything we do, whether in the home or at work.”
Cargill Corn Milling Terminal managers cite an increased effort to instil greater employee awareness and appreciation of the importance of workplace safety for themselves, customers and other onsite visitors, as key drivers behind meeting a high level of safety performance, the company said.
“A lot of hard work, commitment and passion from our employees have gone into achieving this milestone,” said Steve Edmonds, health and safety manager, Cargill Corn Milling North America. “The Terminal team is proving that reaching a goal of zero incidents is not only possible, but sustainable.”
The Cargill Corn Milling Terminal network is made up of eight Terminals throughout the US.
