Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) will refresh its Sprite brand by introducing a new flavour and new designs for the entire Sprite range, as well as launching a £3.3 million marketing campaign to support the move.
The investment represents CCEP’s biggest investment in the Sprite brand in over five years, and a new Sprite Lemon Lime & Cucumber no sugar, zero-calorie variant will be introduced as part of the refresh.
Refreshed design features include a minimalist design scheme featuring lemons and limes, as well as the introduction of a dimpled 2-litre bottle.
Sprite Lemon Lime & Cucumber will be available in 330ml cans, as well as 500ml and 2-litre bottles from the end of February in UK retailers.
CCEP’s £3.3 million marketing campaign will include digital and print advertising, and will target millennial consumers.
Simon Harrison, customer marketing director GB at Coca-Cola European Partners said: “This month marks an exciting time for Sprite as we announce its biggest investment in over five years.
“The introduction of the Cucumber flavoured variant and brand redesign will look to grow one of our much-loved core brands which is currently worth almost £55 million in GB.
“With zero sugar flavoured carbonates currently driving growth within convenience and grocery, there is no better time to launch Sprite Lemon Lime and Cucumber No Sugar which we’re confident will excite our core millennial audience who are always on the look-out for new innovative flavours and experiences.”
