Shambaugh & Son was the prime design/builder for the record 10 month construction of the Chobani plant, and among other things performed all site infrastructure and installed of all of the plant’s mechanical, electrical, ammonia refrigeration, fire protection, process equipment, process piping, and utility piping systems.
The plant will process a record amount of yogurt per day, while consuming lower energy and production costs, the company said. Shambaugh designed and constructed the plant with infrastructure for future expansion, and with technology that enables greater flexibility and efficiency in production, all within 10 months, from site clearing to production.
