UK beverage manufacturer Clearly Drinks has acquired flavoured water brand Revolution Waves for an undisclosed sum, with the aim of expanding its water portfolio.
Revolution Waves was founded in 2017 and is now listed in over 100 schools across the UK, in addition to regional Tesco and Asda stores.
The water brand offers a range of four core flavours: raspberry, cherry, cranberry, and lemon and lime. Available in 500ml bottles, Revolution Waves aims to promote a healthier lifestyle with its sugar-free, low calorie recipes.
Co-founder of Revolution Waves Charlie Simpson-Daniel said: “I’m absolutely delighted with the investment Clearly Drinks has made in Revolution Waves. The firm has an incredibly passionate team and we have a shared vision to take the brand to the next level.”
Mick Howard, CEO of Clearly Drinks, added: “We’re extremely pleased to welcome Revolution Waves to the Clearly Drinks brand having worked with them for three years.
“Charlie and the team have done a fantastic job in promoting the brand in the UK and its dedication to giving back to education is something that we really admire. We intend to continue the hard work over the coming months and expand the product reach even further than before.”
The recent acquisition will allow Clearly Drinks to continue expanding its national portfolio of water brands, following an investment made in 2017 by private-equity firm NorthEdge Capital.
Lloyd Williams, director of NorthEdge Capital, said: “Revolution Waves is a great fit for Clearly Drinks and complements the existing brand base well.
“NorthEdge are keen to continue to back the strategic vision of the team at Clearly Drinks and remain committed to investing further in acquiring brands which fit with the culture, ethos and unique proposition that the company has developed.”
