Organic coconut water brand Buko has confirmed new listings in more than 200 convenient stores throughout London – including Nisa and Londis – as it seeks to drive availability of its drinks range.
The company will also add Planet Organic as a stockist from the middle of this month, saying stores can benefit from the growing demand for coconut water from consumers that have not yet developed a loyalty to a particular brand.
Recognising the saturation of the coconut water segment, Buko is hoping that its environmentally conscious credentials and honest approach – alongside being organic, using only one ingredient in their water and partnering with American organisation Cuipo, which works to protect rainforests around the world by purchasing parcels of rainforest for permanent protection – will help them to stand out and win favour among consumers.
Buko founder Aled Morris said: “Now we’ve got listings in over 300 outlets in the UK, we’re hoping that the major retailers will see us as more than just a niche brand and have a look at how successful brand partnerships with Cuipo products in the US have been. We’re really proud to be working with Cuipo and feel that the partnership captures the whole ethos of the brand.”
