However, it seems that in El Savador, plastic bags of Coca-Cola will soon be available that mimic the iconic Coke bottle shape.
The economic benefits to cash-strapped consumers are clear, and the lighter bags may even have a positive environmental story to tell.

Perhaps we’ll see this packaging option on the European festival circuit next year?
UPDATE — For the record, I have now heard from The Coca-Cola Company, who made the following comment:
“The video your article is based on was not produced or distributed by The Coca-Cola Company. We are not selling Coca-Cola in plastic bags in any country of Central America. Currently, the company distributes Coca-Cola in Central America countries in cans, plastic PET and glass.”
