Columbus, Californian deli meat brand, has released a salami and cheese snack range to appeal to growing demands for convenience.
The three variations include recently-launched salami flavours which are free from antibiotics and contain no added nitrates or nitrites. The three cheese options, rBST-free, are paired to complement each meat option, giving consumers an easy way to enjoy the Columbus range.
The three flavour combinations are Italian dry salami paired with white cheddar cheese, Genoa salami paired with provolone cheese, and pepperoni paired with fontina cheese.
Lauren Keller, senior brand manager at Columbus, said: “Innovation drives our company’s growth, and snacks have played a large role in that growth since 2016.
“Since then, the Columbus brand has grown 18%. And we always keep to our San Francisco heritage and love for craft meats.”
Columbus said: “Charcuterie boards are some of the most shareable creations on social media out there. And they are also one of the tastiest things to snack on. But with work, running errands, dropping off the kids, etc, we understand that your schedule doesn’t always allow time for creating and enjoying these delicious meat and cheese combinations.
“That’s why Columbus has stepped up our snacking game by offering our same, uncompromised salami in combination with premium rBST-free cheeses in one snack-size package. We have spent the past few months hand-selecting quality cheeses to pair with each salami flavour — so you can have a delicious snacking experience. These combinations are perfect when you’re craving a little charcuterie treat to tide you over.”
As well as these new products, the brand has released its most popular variety of meats in snacking portions. These include original Italian dry salami, Genoa salami, uncured Italian dry salami, and uncured pepperoni.
Snack portioning has become popular with the rise of busier lifestyles and the move away from bigger mealtimes. The new snacking range from Columbus appeals to consumers who wish to take their products with them in a bag to work, school, or to enjoy outside during the summer.
