Cosmo Films, the Indian maker of films for flexible packaging, has launched a new sterilisable conduction sealing film for PP and PE containers.
The film is able to withstand high temperatures during the sterilisation process, which is used to increase the shelf life of products, Cosmo said.
For consumers, the product is said to offer improved convenience as it is easy to open and peels cleanly without splitting. One side of the film is corona treated and the other is a heat sealable film.
The film can be used as a mono layer or as a sealant layer in a laminated structure with other substrates like aluminium foil. It can be used in roll or pre-cut form based on the requirements of customers.
New Delhi-headquartered Cosmo Films said the film can be used for flavoured milks, juices, energy drinks and bakery products.
Pankaj Poddar, CEO of Cosmo Films, said: “This is an award-winning film especially developed keeping in mind the dairy industry. The uniqueness of the film lies in its endurance to withstand high temperatures during sterilisation process without affecting its seal integrity. We are confident of the success of this film and the response so far has been extremely encouraging.”
Established in 1981, Cosmo Films sells bi-axially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) and cast polypropylene (CPP) films. It has facilities and distribution centres in India, the US, South Korea and Japan.
Earlier this year, the firm launched clear, non-heat sealable BOPP heat-resistant films.
