Crown Speciality Packaging won an award in the Beverages category for the modern container created for Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut champagne. The design is enhanced by the delicate perforations of the famous anemones and the embossing of the Perrier-Jouët logo.
The perforations allow light to play on the light green wash on the internal surface, emitting a soft ‘glow’ that reinforces the consumer appeal of the package. A golden ribbon on the container’s lid adds a subtle touch of sophistication, complementing the product inside.
Crown Food Europe also received an award for its Easylift easy-open ends in the Food category. The business unit was also given Silver in the ‘best of the best’ President’s Award category.
“We’re very proud to have been recognised with these awards,” said Chris Homfray, president of Crown Europe. “We design and manufacture our products with the consumer in mind, and convenient and eye-catching packaging is essential to meet demand for user-friendly brands. Both Crown’s Easylift easy-open ends and unique metal packaging designs, such as the Perrier-Jouët tin, can help brands stand out from the shelf and significantly improve the experience consumers have with the product.”
The WorldStar 2008 competition attracted 224 entries from 32 countries around the world. Awards were handed out during a special ceremony on 1 July in Mexico City.
