SPM manufactures a range of dispensers of frozen and hot beverages and soft ice-cream.
Electrolux has acquired SPM Drink Systems, an Italian manufacturer of dispensers of frozen and hot beverages and soft ice cream, as part of a strategy to increase its presence in the hospitality industry.
Sweden-headquartered Electrolux said the “extensive product portfolio” offered by SPM Drink Systems will allow it to become a full service solution provider by expanding its current beverage offering to include a comprehensive range of products.
Together with the 2017 acquisition of Grindmaster-Cecilware in North America, the deal strengthens Electrolux’s presence in the beverage segment.
Alberto Zanata, head of Electrolux professional products, said: “We are excited and pleased to enlarge and complement our product portfolio in beverage with such an attractive, modern and well-regarded company with a strong position in Europe. This acquisition is strategic and a perfect match to bring added value to our product offering.”
SPM Drink Systems has 110 employees and last year recorded net sales of around €30 million. The company’s headquarters and main manufacturing facilities are based in Modena, Italy.
