UK distributor Euro Food Brands has acquired healthy snack brand The Food Doctor from William Jackson Food Group for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 1999, The Food Doctor offers a range of convenient and healthy foods such as pitta breads, wraps, bagels and super snacks which consist of a mix of beans, seeds and nuts. The brand prides itself on using wholesome ingredients and its products are listed in a variety of UK supermarkets.
Meanwhile, Euro Food Brands is a distributor of speciality food and drink brands to the UK and Irish grocery trade.
Following the acquisition, The Food Doctor will join Euro Food Brands’ portfolio of exclusive worldwide partners including Reese’s, Barilla, Campbell’s Soup, Ainsley Harriott and Voss.
William Jackson Food Group bought The Food Doctor back in 2016. It currently owns organic home delivery service Abel & Cole, bakery Jacksons of Yorkshire and MyFresh. The British food manufacturer previously sold frozen Yorkshire pudding brand Aunt Bessie’s to Nomad Foods in 2018 for approximately £210 million.
“We are excited about adding The Food Doctor brand and continuing its development in line with the brand ethos of ‘everyday foods with wholesome ingredients and a nutritious twist’. We are positive about developing and growing brands, despite the challenges of Covid-19 and Brexit,” said Euro Food Brands’ managing director Peter Butler.
