Specialist beer importer Euroboozer has unveiled the first of a series of planned introductions, after securing an exclusive distribution agreement to import and develop the portfolio of craft brewer Palm Belgian Craft Brewers.
Euroboozer is seeking to capitalise on the increased interest for sour beers with the release of Rodenbach Grand Cru and the limited edition Rodenbach Caractère Rouge – both from the Northwest Belgium-based beer maker.
Rodenbach Grand Cru is described as “an exceptional Belgian Flemish red-brown sour beer”, combining one third “young beer” and two thirds beer matured for two years in oak vats. The 6% ABV beverage “perfectly balances the sweet and sour with an intense bouquet and long finish” and is bottle in 33cl and 75cl formats, Euroboozer said.
7% ABV Rodenbach Caractère Rouge also utilises beer matured for two years in oak casks, and this limited edition brew undergoes an additional six months fermenting with fresh cherries, raspberries and cranberries to produce “a delightfully complex beer with a berry-filled nose, subtle notes of violet, leather and tobacco and with complimentary bitter, sweet and dry flavours.”
Euroboozer founder Martyn Railton said: “The world and craft beer categories are continuing to see strong growth as consumers go in search of unique and interesting breweries offering exciting beer styles, flavour profiles and most of all outstanding quality. The Palm breweries and their beers have all these virtues and so much more. With summer time well underway and sour a definite taste trend in the trade, we expect these two beauties to be big hits. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to NPD from the brewery so we are incredibly honoured to be working with Palm at such an exciting time.”
