The new facility will produce a range of specially developed ‘Fish in a Flash’ products for the company’s largest customer, Tesco.
Craig Walker, chief executive of Labeyrie Fine Foods UK, the parent company of Farne, said: “This is a major investment for our business and is a testament to our strong relationship with our partner Tesco. Over the last 30 years, Farne Salmon has grown from strength to strength and now employs over 600 people providing valuable income that goes back into the local community.
“Our success can be attributed to our people, who are passionate about creating high quality, innovative fish products for all our customers.”
The new facility was officially opened on 5 August by Michael Moore MP.
