San Francisco-based office healthy food supplier garten has closed an agreement to acquire fresh food kiosk LeanBox for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2014, garten provides in-office healthier alternatives to snacks and lunch services for businesses. The deal follows garten’s previous acquisition of Byte Foods in 2020 and Blissmo in 2017.
The purchase will see garten extend its “employee wellbeing services” market, said the company.
garten’s founder and CEO, Michael Heinrich, said: “garten is poised to service employers of all sizes to help them take care of their employees’ wellbeing, no matter if they remain remote or are returning to the office”.
He continued: “The acquisition of LeanBox is a sign of things to come for garten. Throughout the pandemic, we focused on optimising our solutions for the new normal, and now we’re focused on expansion, having options and crafting new solutions to meet the needs for all employers.”
LeanBox’s co-founder, Shea Coakley, added: “The combination of garten and LeanBox’s in-office offerings is extremely powerful. Together, we can help companies reimagine how they can prioritise health and wellness for their employees, which is now more important than ever.”
The company said that garten will continue to expand its wellbeing products through more acquisitions.
