Fresh pasta brand Giovanni Rana has reinvigorated its range of pasta sauces with the launch of three new variants, two reformulated recipes and a newly rebranded variety.
The brand is rolling out new Simply Italian butter and sage – the first sauce of its kind in the UK – Simply Italian sun-ripened tomato and mascarpone, and Italian Indulgence creamy carbonara variants. It has also adopted new recipes for its Simply Italian pesto and Simply Italian tomato and basil sauce, while the brand’s Italian Indulgence cream with hand-picked porcini mushroom sauce has been given a fresh new look.
The chilled sauces are available in 140g–250 film-sealed plastic pots, and Giovanni Rana is hoping that the new product developments will help it to “reinvigorate the fresh pasta sauce category”. The range is available from supermarket chains Asda, Iceland and Ocado with recommended retail prices between £1.99 and £2.49.
Giovanni Rana CEO Gian Luca Rana said: “We’re continuing to drive awareness of the Italian way of eating and enjoying pasta at home; this includes introducing British consumers to butter and sage sauce, one of the most classic combinations Italians use to dress filled pasta, as well as adding more than half a decade of expertise to the ever-popular creamy carbonara or sun ripened tomato and mascarpone sauces.”
“For the second consecutive year, we’ll be taking our fresh filled pasta ranges and these new sauces on our sampling tour across the UK, where ravioli will be served simply with olive oil and parmesan or expertly paired with a Simply Italian butter and sage sauce.”
