The judging panel met on Friday to choose the finalists and winners in the other 15 categories, ranging from ‘Best new non-alcoholic beverage’ to ‘Best Halal food’.
We were very pleased with this inaugural awards scheme, which succeeded in attracting 150 entries from 26 countries. This is the 15th Gulfood event, with over 3,500 exhibitors, so FoodBev Media, in partnership with the Dubai World Trade Centre, will be expecting an even more successful event next year.
I’ve spent this morning taking many photographs for the final categories and we will be working on the final presentation overnight, so that tomorrow we can present the awards in front of an invited audience of 1,500 people.
Being Dubai, everything is done very efficiently, but at the last minute! And with only 30 hours to go until we stage the awards, the stage, lighting, audio/visual and other paraphernalia is not yet on-site.
Everyone assures us it’ll be all right on the night! To judge for yourself, revisit FoodBev.com regularly.
