Empack has been involved in solutions for the South American produce industry for more than 30 years. They are experts in packaging, printing and labelling solutions for a wide range of produce categories, including table grapes, stone fruit, avocados, asparagus and citrus.
Empack will provide sales, installation, training, and support for the HarvestMark PTI solution. The Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI) deadline is quickly approaching, and as the Southern Hemisphere harvest ramps up, shippers and exporters in South America are looking to achieve PTI compliance to meet the needs of their US buyers.
Over 200 customers from Canada to Argentina have deployed HarvestMark PTI solutions. Working with Empack, the HarvestMark team brings local support to Chilean and Peruvian shippers, the company said.
Alberto Calderón, director general, Empack, said: “YottaMark understands the traceability needs of the fresh produce industry and we bring three decades of deep experience with the unique needs of this region. We’re pleased to add HarvestMark to the family of solutions that we represent to help our customers achieve PTI compliance, improve supply chain efficiency, and deliver added value to distributors, retailers, and end consumers.”
The HarvestMark PTI solution, in use by hundreds of shippers from Canada to Argentina, makes compliance with the Produce Traceability Initiative easy to implement and manage, from field and line packing, to private label and repacking.
HarvestMark PTI includes all the hardware and software needed to produce PTI-compliant case, RPC, and pallet labels. Trace-back, trace-forward, and optional production data is hosted at HarvestMark.com, delivering unique and valuable supply chain reporting, and enabling on-demand traceability anywhere in the supply chain, the company clams.
