Heineken has announced that it has appointed former Heineken Ireland CEO Maggie Timoney as the new CEO of its US division.
Timoney will succeed Ronald den Elzen on 1 September 2018, as Elzen is returning to the Netherlands to assume a new global leadership position within the Heineken global company.
Timoney has over 25 years of experience in the beer and cider industry, and she has served as the head of the company’s Irish operations for the last five years, where she “over-delivered on volume, revenue, profit and market share targets”, according to Heineken.
Before serving as the CEO of Heineken Ireland, Timoney held various positions at Heineken USA, Heineken Canada and in the Netherlands since joining the company in 1998.
Prior to joining Heineken, Timoney worked in sales for E&J Gallo and operated as an Anheuser-Busch Wholesaler in the US.
Marc Busain, Heineken Americas region president said: “Maggie is a competitive and energetic leader who is known for inspiring teams, operationalising plans and mobilising organisations to deliver business results.
“She understands the challenges and opportunities that exist within the US market and she has the right mix of strategic vision, people leadership and grit to ignite future growth for Heineken USA.”
