Seimei means ‘life force’ in Japanese, and alongside the launch of the drinks is the launch of the Seimei Fund aimed at providing funding for charities. At the forefront of it all is Helena Christensen.
“I personally like the feeling of showing consideration for others, even in the little things such as when I buy something in a supermarket or cafe,” she said. “With so many products to choose from, we want to use Seimei to give everyone the option of choosing a product that also raises money for good causes, such as a hostel for homeless people, better conditions at a care home or similar projects.”
Christensen, who is chair of the Seimei Fund, has been actively involved in the whole project: “My involvement has ranged from the development and tasting of the different Seimei drinks, creating the two Seimei logos, sharing my visions for the images to supporting the Seimei campaign to the appointment of board members in the Seimei Fund,” she said.
Three drinks feature in the launch: pomegranate flavour alcoholic ice tea, apple cider, and elderflower flavour sparkling wine.
Later this year the range will be expanded to nine drinks, including non-alcoholic iced teas and an energy drink.
