Honey-infused beverage brand Just Bee has secured new listings with high-end retailers Fortnum and Mason, and Selfridges.
The deal sees the Manchester-based start-up stock its products on the shelves of all three of Selfridges’ food stores in Manchester, Birmingham and London, as well as the London site of Fortnum and Mason. Launched in March 2015, the 100% natural spring water drinks use only honey as a natural sweetener, containing less than 4g of sugar per 100ml. The range comprises three flavours: apple and ginger, blueberry and lemon and lemon and green tea. Each drink contains less than 50 calories.
Just Bee Drinks co-owner Joe Harper said: “More and more people are looking for a healthier alternative to soft drinks with sugar. We developed Just Bee as a healthier option because it only uses honey as a natural sweetener. We attended a number of the Business Growth Hub’s workshops and these have been extremely valuable when it came to our meetings with Selfridges and Fortnum’s.”
Mick Hadfield, growth business advisor at Business Growth Hub – the Greater Manchester-based organisation that supported Just Bee in securing the listings – said: “Just Bee is a fantastic example of what entrepreneurs can achieve in a short space of time if they have the right attitude, the right idea and the right advice. In just 12 weeks, the business has gone from launch to securing nationwide distribution rights, including deals with some of the UK’s most prestigious brands.”
