Netherlands-based fish processor Kennemervis Groep has completed the acquisition of Bobeldijk Food Group, a manufacturer of plant-based meat alternatives.
Based in Deventer, the Netherlands, Bobeldijk Food Group manufactures and sells a range of meat alternative products under its Vegafit brand, including plant-based alternatives to meatballs, steaks, nuggets and more.
Kennemervis Groep said in a statement that this acquisition will support the growth of Bobeldijk Food Group’s presence in the plant-based product market.
No financial details were disclosed by either company.
According to Kennemervis Groep, Remko Vogelenzang – a director at Bobeldijk Food Group – will continue to lead Bobeldijk Food Group following the purchase, reporting directly to Eugene Scholten, CEO of Kennemervis Groep.
Commenting on the acquisition, Scholten said: “We see around us that consumers, markets and customers are constantly on the move. We want to continue to respond optimally to this and see good opportunities in growing Bobeldijk Food Group as part of the family of Kennemervis Groep companies.
