Koval Distillery has announced the release of a new organic barrelled gin – a follow-up to Koval’s dry gin, with the same recipe but incorporating the addition of spiced oak flavours from the barrel ageing process as well.
Koval barrelled gin features a similarly crisp spirit to the dry gin, with flavours from rose hip, juniper, angelica root and coriander. It also boasts a new level of depth and oak from the spirit’s time resting in a Koval whiskey barrel. The attention to detail that Koval’s grain-to-bottle process allows shines through in the final product, the Chicago-based distiller said, offering a unique spirit that appeals to gin and whiskey drinkers alike.
The packaging reflects the common credentials between the barrelled gin and the dry gin, as well as its point of difference, according to Koval Distillery’s president.
“We wanted the label to maintain the same level of sophistication as the dry gin, but with a fresh design and slight colour change that reflects the barrel ageing process,” said Dr Sonat Birnecker Hart.
The barreled gin will be immediately available in Illinois and expanding into select national and international markets later.
