Luxembourg dairy company Luxlait has launched a new range of frozen yogurt snack pots, packaged in RPC Superfos’ EasySnacking packaging.
Available in three flavours – peach and passionfruit, strawberry, and caramel with salted butter and pecan nuts – the frozen yogurt has a creamy and light texture that rivals ice cream but contains fewer calories. For each flavour, there is a matching coulis: caramel, strawberry, or passionfruit.
The injection moulded polypropylene (PP) container – a finalist in the best convenience or on-the-go packaging category at the World Food Innovation Awards – features a stylish spoon in the lid for indulgence on the go.
And, according to Luxlait’s purchasing manager, the EasySnacking pots are one of the reasons for the frozen yogurt line’s positive initial sales results.
Jérôme Lejeune said: “We chose the EasySnacking pot because we were intrigued by the general look and feel of it. It conveys something modern and young, and even has a dash of ergonomic design because it is so soft and smooth. Further, we appreciate the integral, organically formed spoon, which is quite solid and therefore perfect for scooping frozen yogurt.”
Another major benefit, according to Luxlait, is the transparent lid in a range of striking colours – one for each flavour – that gives consumers a glimpse of the coulis pattern on top of the frozen yogurt. On the pack itself, the flavour descriptors and product information are printed in both French and Luxembourgish.
“Sales have surpassed our expectations, and part of our success lies in the packaging,” Lejeune continued. “We have been working with RPC Superfos for more than 15 years now, and know the company as a serious packaging supplier who regularly visits us and presents new packaging ideas to us. The idea of using the EasySnacking pack was spot on.”
Luxlait’s frozen yogurt was initially targeted at younger customers, but has proved popular with a much broader segment of the market, and the dairy company will recognise its continuing popularity by releasing two additional flavours: vanilla and raspberry.
