MRC, which also supplies an extensive range of sauces, mixes, coatings, seasonings and glazes, is introducing its selection of Gourmet Marinades in response to feedback from butchers that consumers are demanding more nutritious, restaurant-style experiences for meals cooked in the comfort of their own homes.
Gourmet Marinades are available in three flavours: Mediterranean Tomato & Caper, Cantonese Style and Sweet Chilli. The range is free of artificial colours, artificial flavours and hydrogenated fats.
The new selection of marinades met with enthusiastic approval when taste-tested at a butcher’s workshop held recently by MRC. Steve Connor of Woods Butchers said: “The MRC Gourmet Marinades proved easy to handle and extremely popular.”
MRC’s national account controller for the new range, Stewart Niven, said: “We consulted with a range of consumers and butchers as part of the development process, and the feedback was clear. They wanted quality ingredients that make great-tasting dishes, and that’s exactly what we’re offering.
“Our new marinades will be the first products to bear the MRC Butcher’s Promise stamp – a best-in-class mark of excellence – as well as our ‘Free From’ logo to prove we add nothing except our experience and commitment to quality and value. We’re confident that butchers will be delighted with this new range, particularly in terms of functionality, ease of use, taste and price.”
The Gourmet Marinades range will launch 16 March 2009 to coincide with National Butchers’ Week. Available initially through the Dalziel Group, the Gourmet Marinades are available in single-flavour packs containing 6x 1kg pouches, or in variety packs containing two pouches of each flavour, butcher’s tickets and ‘how to use’ flyers.
