Let’s meet the judging panel for the Plant-Based Taste Awards 2022, in association with Plant Based World Europe.
This year’s panel includes names who are dedicated and knowledgeable about the plant-based industry. Between them, they’re responsible for deciding the winners of the Plant-Based Taste Awards 2022, judged solely on the taste of each entry.
Finalists for each category will be announced on Friday 18th November, and the winners will be awarded during a special ceremony at Plant Based World Europe, on Wednesday 30th November.
Maddie, or @_plantbasedmads, started eating plant-based just under three years ago due to health reasons for her Husband. Since then, she has enjoyed the creativity in cooking vegan food, realising how delicious it can be, as well as recognising the benefits it has on our environment. She started an Instagram page to try and convince others that eating in this more sustainable way is a good thing for both our planet and our taste buds, without scaring people off with what can sometimes feel like heavy hard facts. In her day to day, she is training to be a vicar and run a second-hand vintage clothing business.

Haydn is a keen advocate for all things vegan and building a healthier, more caring and more sustainable world, for both animals and humans. He has dreamt of being a chef since a young age, with a desire to travel the world and learn from local cooking techniques. After taking time out of the industry and understanding the true transparency of how food reaches the table, he began relentlessly researching the world of plant-based food. This led to a constant development of new recipes & techniques, leading to working as Head Chef at a vegan restaurant in Bristol & as a consultant to several restaurants and businesses on the world of plant-based, with the drive to push ‘alternatives’ into the future, questioning the norm and improving on the competition. His aim is to change preconceived opinions on plant-based alternatives by harnessing vegetables & fruits to improve on classic tastes and textures, without need for man-made additives.
