Samworth Brothers has debuted a new brand of healthy ready meals, designed to offer a fresh approach to consumers’ increasingly health-conscious food needs.
My Healthy Kitchen consists of six ‘internationally inspired’ and healthy ready meals made with wholesome ingredients. They include pea and mint risotto with rocket, pesto, pickled red cabbage and steamed red quinoa; prawn katsu with pickled carrot and jasmine rice; and oriental chicken with shiitake mushrooms, pickled carrot, edamame beans and rice noodles.
Each meal bowl is under 500kcal and contains at least one on-trend claim, including being low in fat, sugar or saturated fat, a source of protein or fibre, or providing one of the five recommended daily portions of fruit and vegetables.
They have recently launched into Ocado and will soon rollout in Waitrose stores across the UK.
Samworth Brothers brand and business development manager Alastair Johns said: “My Healthy Kitchen is an exciting new brand development in a growing category. There’s a continuing consumer movement towards healthier products, and My Healthy Kitchen is an innovation that closely follows the trend. The brand has a lot of potential; while we’ve launched initially with six SKUs, we have big plans for myhk and will be developing new, exciting products at pace.
“The listings in Waitrose and Ocado are testament to the quality of our product. With the success of the launch, we’re now moving manufacturing to one of the main Samworth Brothers sites, ready to take My Healthy Kitchen’s next steps.”
