Plastic milk bottle producer Nampak Plastics has announced the sale of its one billionth Infini bottle.
The achievement has been reached in just over two years, with Infini being stocked by major retailers such as Marks & Spencer, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose.
Currently the lightest and strongest bottle on the British market, the Infini bottle meets increasing demand for more sustainable and cost effective products in the market. To date, Infini has saved 34,000 tonnes of carbon and 16,000 tonnes of material per year since launching in 2012, the company claimed.
Eric Collins, managing director of Nampak Plastics, said: “We are thrilled about the announcement of our billionth Infini bottle sold. It’s great to see the efforts of the whole team at Nampak highlighted by customer sales. It is clear that the Infini bottle is an innovative, sustainable and cost effective product – which, evidently, consumers enjoy.”
Kevin Vyse, primary foods packaging technologist and innovation lead at Marks and Spencer, added: “Having witnessed Nampak continue to push the barriers around performance and sustainability over the last few years, it is great to hear of the announcement of the billionth Infini bottle sold. I’m looking forward to further hearing about the advances Nampak has planned for developing this groundbreaking product.”
