CEO Chris Cuvelier said in an exclusive interview with FoodBev’s Media’s Claire Phoenix yesterday: “Our newest product is a better-for-you lemonade with all the hydrating benefits of coconut water and that great lemonade taste. We’ve been working for months to get the balance of tart and sweet just right.
“Here we are combining two popular categories – coconut water and lemonade – with only 45 calories a serving – so it delivers a light and refreshing taste. Incidentally, we’re the first company to launch coconut water in a can and 1-litre screw-top carton.
“Zola has some of the fastest-selling SKUs in the mainstream market, even while competing with Coke (Zico), Pepsi (One and Naked Juice) and Dr Pepper (Vita Coco). We’re not the biggest, but our products sell really fast and our promise to our retailers is incremental growth.”
