Alma de Cuba has introduced its first premium Nespresso-compatible capsules, priced at £8 for 20 capsules. This is a medium-to-high roast bean (100% Cuban mountain-grown Arabica). All of the Nespresso-compatible Cafecito Capsules are filled with 100% Arabica Cuban Mountain Coffee with no added bells and whistles.
“Sales of coffee capsules in Western Europe almost doubled over the past four years to £3.3bn,” said a spokesperson from Alma de Cuba. “According to Euromonitor and worldwide, the market is estimated at £8.2bn. Having launched our brand just 12 months ago, we are thrilled that Alma de Cuba has generated lots of interest that has converted into sales and driven demand for the product to be made available in new formats. Our capsules have a big future because they meet the dual needs of the modern consumer for quality and convenience – not forgetting a great cup of coffee.”
Alma de Cuba has also secured its first prestigious UK listing for its gourmet roast coffee gift tin in the food markets of all six Harvey Nichols’ luxury department stores.
Alma de Cuba director Phillip Oppenheim said, “The intense ‘Fuerte’ flavour of Alma de Cuba epitomises Cuba’s soul, while Harvey Nichols is the essence of true English luxury. It’s a great, international combination. We are delighted with this partnership and we continue to build alliances with high-end retailers across the globe to complement our ecommerce offer. Harvey Nichols, alongside our recent listing with Le Grande Epicerie, Paris is evident (sic) of this.”
