Nestlé USA’s DiGiorno brand has expanded its portfolio with the launch of a Croissant Crust Pizza, available in three variants.
DiGiorno’s new ‘mashup’, which it says is the only croissant-style pizza available nationally in the frozen aisle, is available in Pepperoni, Four Cheese and Three Meat flavours.
Each Croissant Crust Pizza is topped with 100% real cheese, while the dough is freshly baked in consumers’ home ovens.
A survey commissioned by Nestlé found that one-third of adults were more likely to buy frozen ‘comfort food’ than they were two months earlier.
“Food mashups continue to drive culinary creativity and inspire a fun connection for people,” said Megan Smargiasso, DiGiorno brand manager at Nestlé.
“We’re excited about adding DiGiorno Croissant Crust Pizza to the list of unexpected food trends, especially as people spend more time eating at home right now and want true comfort food.”
DiGiorno Croissant Crust Pizza is available, for an MSRP of $6.49-$7.40, from retailers nationwide, including Target, Food Lion, Hannaford, Hy-Vee, and Publix.
At the end of 2019, Nestlé announced it would be introducing a meatless alternative pizza to its DiGiorno range, Rising Crust Meatless Supreme, featuring a plant-based ground beef substitute.
