Nestlé has released a range of indulgent chocolate truffles under its Quality Street brand, meaning fans no longer need to wait until the festive season.
The launch marks the first all-new Quality Street product in almost 85 years.
According to the chocolate brand, Intrigue takes the essence of Quality Street and adds a contemporary twist.
Intrigue has arrived in UK stores in three different variations inspired by Quality Street’s classic flavours: Salted Caramel Truffles, Praline Truffles and Orange Truffles.
“Quality Street is a much-loved UK brand; and we know many fans would love to enjoy more of it all year round. That’s why we’ve created a product that will enable consumers to experience Quality Street in a brand-new way,” said Rebecca Holt, brand manager for Quality Street.
Intrigue Salted Caramel Truffles, which are dipped in crunchy salted caramel pieces, pay tribute to the Mackintosh caramel toffee, the forerunner to Quality Street.
Praline Truffles, meanwhile, are inspired by the brand’s Green Triangle and the Purple One featuring a smooth praline truffle centre encased in a milk chocolate shell and covered in hazelnut pieces.
Like Quality Street’s Orange Crunch and Orange Crème, Intrigue Orange Truffles provide a ‘tantalising burst of citrus coated in milk chocolate and sprinkled with orange-flavoured pieces’.
Holt added: “Perfect as a gift whatever the occasion, we think this new product is very special indeed. We hope it will delight Quality Street fans as well as introduce new consumers to the brand.”
Quality Street Intrigue are available in 200g boxes, each containing 20 individually wrapped sweets, for an RRP of £5.
The salted caramel and praline editions will be available in Morrisons and Asda stores nationwide from the beginning of March and in Tesco stores from April, whilst Intrigue Orange Truffles are exclusive to Asda.
