The New York Bakery Co. has introduced a limited edition roasted garlic and herb variety to its authentic bagel range, following a period of sustained success.
The brand has experienced growth of 27% over the last two years and now occupies 84% of the UK packaged bagel market, which is reported to be worth more than £70m. The company claimed that its continued growth is in part a result of establishing core flavours such as its plain and sesame seed bagels.
The roasted garlic and herb bagel – a New York twist on a classic Italian combination – will sell for £1.55 from retailers including Sainsbury’s, Ocado and Tesco.
The New York Bakery Co.’s head of marketing, Karen Revel-Chion, said: “Roasted Garlic and Herb bagels are part of a seasonal rotation strategy to drive consumer excitement and bagel category growth. The flavour is perfect to complement savoury fillings like bacon, lettuce & tomato or cool cream cheese and roasted vegetables, or as a quick pizza base with melted mozzarella and your favourite topping.”
