Lancaster Colony Corporation subsidiary T. Marzetti Company has acquired frozen stuffed bagel producer Bantam Bagels for $34 million.
Bantam Bagels produces a range of sweet and savoury bagel and snack products for a wide range of food service and retail clients such as Starbucks, Target and Costco.
Lancaster Colony says that Bantam’s range of mini stuffed bagels, pancakes and Egg Bites will complement its existing New York Brand Baker and Sister Schubert’s brands.
Bantam Bagels registered annual net sales of around $20 million in its most recent financial year.
Dave Ciesinski, Lancaster Colony’s CEO said: “We are extremely excited to add Bantam Bagels to our speciality foods business.
“Bantam Bagels is a fast-emerging company that provides us with an entry into the large and growing frozen breakfast category.
“Their established relationship with Starbucks in the foodservice channel is another positive that positions Bantam Bagels for future expansion.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nick, Elyse and Bantam Bagels to our family of Lancaster Colony companies and look forward to a successful future together.”
