NuGo Nutrition has launched a new range of high-protein vegan pea cookies in the US as it aims to satisfy consumer demand for plant-based treats.
Non-GMO and gluten-free, the cookies are available in four flavours: peanut butter chocolate, double chocolate, oatmeal raisin, and dark chocolate chip. Each pack is said to contain 16g of protein.
The biscuits join NuGo’s lineup of vegan, gluten-free protein bars: NuGo Dark, NuGo Free, and four NuGo Slim flavours.
The brand claims that when consuming the chocolate chips and coating, the natural cocoa butter separates from the cocoa powder providing the smooth texture, while releasing ‘immense real chocolate flavour’.
NuGo CEO David Levine said: “We’re proud to have made a deliciously baked cookie satisfying the consumer demand for plant-based protein products that cater to many lifestyles.
“Consumers who eat gluten-free and vegan can now enjoy the classic cookie flavours they crave, while getting the protein and fibre they need.”
