More than five million bottles of Pago fruit juice – in 14 different flavours – were bought in the UK in 2007. MD Tony Harwood is confident for 2008: “We’re a niche supplier – you won’t find Pago on the shelves in the major supermarkets just yet, but who knows what might happen in the next twelve months. The brand continues to be accepted by many of the top bar staff and mixologists as the finest long drink mixer you can buy. And we’re hearing of increasing numbers of our fruit juices making it into schools in young people’s lunch boxes,” he explained.
Pago is available in its traditional green coloured 20cl glass bottles and now in 33cl PET plastic bottles. The company will be pushing hard to build on its current position in the vending marketplace. During April 2007, Pago launches its brand new pink grapefruit 100% multifruit juice – with no added sugar. The growing demand for 100% fruit juices has seen Pago replace its grapefruit nectar drink with the new pink grapefruit multifruit juice that fits nicely as one of the recommended five a day portions of fresh fruit and vegetables.
“The new pink grapefruit multifruit juice is a subtle blend of pink grapefruit, grape, apple, lime and guava sharp, crisp drink with more nutrients per calorie than any other 100% fruit juice,” said Tony Harwood. “It’s an excellent replacement for the grapefruit nectar and has taken our range another step forward.”
The 33cl PET bottles give protection from UV light and ensures a nine month shelf life for the Pago range including blood orange and lime, orange juice and multivitamin red cocktail, orange, carrot and lemon and multivitamin tropical cocktail. “The demand for the products in PET is phenomenal and has made it easy for us to add to the range,” he concluded.
