PepsiCo has made another foray into the functional beverage category with the launch of Soulboost, a new sparkling water brand targeting wellness-focused consumers.
The company’s latest consumer-centric innovation is a sparkling water beverage blended with a splash of real juice and infused with functional ingredients L-theanine and panax ginseng.
Soulboost intends to support mental stamina and relaxation and is PepsiCo’s latest push in the enhanced water market, following the launch of Driftwell, a functional still water beverage designed to help consumers relax and de-stress.
Soulboost is available in two varieties – Lift and Ease – and offers four flavour profiles. Each 12oz can contains between 10 to 20 calories.
Lift comes in blueberry pomegranate and black cherry citrus flavours and features 200mg of panax ginseng to help support mental stamina. Ease is available in blackberry passionfruit and strawberry rose flavours and contains 200mg of L-theanine, intending to help support relaxation.
“With consumers today increasingly looking for convenient ways to support mental stamina and relaxation in their daily routines or find alternatives to alcoholic beverages – and the pandemic having increased people’s overall interest in wellness products – we knew it was time to introduce a game-changing product,” said Emily Silver, vice president, innovation & capabilities at PepsiCo Beverages North America.
The Soulboost beverage line is available via ecommerce and in select natural retailers.
