PepsiCo has created three new limited-edition designs for its Stacy’s Pita Chips brand to celebrate Women’s History Month and promote gender equality.
The limited-edition designs feature original artwork, and Stacy’s says that each design aims to deliver a “powerful” message in support of the equality movement.
One design features a super-imposed lion, which illustrates women’s “ferocious tenacity to advance the equality movement”.
Another features several talking mouths, representing how women are speaking out to support and celebrate each other.
The final design features the word ‘Unstoppable’ emblazoned on the packet, which “underscores how far women can go when they support each other”, according to the brand.
Stacy’s will also donate $25,000 to the charity Step Up, which helps provide educational opportunities to girls from ‘under-resourced’ communities.
Stacy’s has also pledged to donate a total of $100,000 to various women’s initiatives by the end of 2018.
The three designs will be sold as part of a commemorative box set, which will be available online from PepsiCo’s online store, Amazon, Jet and at Walmart, though limited quantities have been produced.
Stuart Beck, senior director of marketing at Stacy’s Snacks said: “As a brand founded by a strong, passionate, entrepreneurial woman, Stacy’s Pita Chips recognizes the importance of female empowerment and ingenuity and is proud to transform our packaging this month to honor women who are ‘Rising to the Occasion’ every day.”
