Powerful Yogurt has debuted a new pink cup design for its strawberry Greek yogurt to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The customarily black packaging will be turning pink immediately across the US and internationally at all of Powerful Yogurt’s retail locations. It features a pink ribbon on pack – a symbol of breast cancer awareness – and takes on a personal touch by featuring Berenice Zavarce, the mother of the company’s founder and CEO, who is currently fighting against breast cancer.
As part of Project Pink, Powerful Yogurt will also donate a percentage of its gross sales to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to support ongoing research for breast cancer cures, as well as treatments for the more than 232,000 patients who are diagnosed with the disease every year in the US alone.
Powerful Yogurt founder and CEO Carlos Ramirez said: “Project Pink is a deeply personal effort for me and for many of us at Powerful Yogurt. For me, seeing my mother’s courage and grace in the face of breast cancer is a daily reminder of the thousands of women just like her who are giving their all to beat this disease. My sincere hope is that with every pink cup we have on the shelf, we not only contribute to an eventual cure but that we also provide encouragement to everyone affected by breast cancer.”
Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is organised by the American Cancer Society, will run until the end of October.
